I got a wonderful Swedish massage and I felt so sore later that day that it was as if I had been beaten. Only lightly beaten, though. I didn't even realize how tight my muscles were, but I obviously really needed the massage.
Next I had a strange-but-good facial that made me feel very Holy. They swaddled me in a white robe and I was surrounded by white clouds of steam. They even gave me some aroma therapy with frankincense. Yes, I said FRANKINCENSE. It smelled nice. I can see why the three wise men thought it would be a great gift.
I had a nice lunch (which is surprising because spas usually feed you rabbit food) and then I swam and sunbathed at the gorgeous pool. I felt like a whale beside the usual crop of yoga-practitioner/triathlete/vegans that are so prevalent in Austin, but only a small whale because I have finally lost most of my baby weight. Still, all those overly-healthy people wear me out!
I spent most of my afternoon reading a book in this hammock by the lake. I am reading "A Prayer for Owen Meany". Has anyone else read it? I am loving it but it is taking me forever to finish it because it is long and I have to read in short increments while Daphne is asleep. Anyway, how relaxing does this look?

The setting was unbelievably beautiful. I think all the time about how blessed we are to live in such a gorgeous city.
I had the most relaxing, restorative day and I feel like the prize pony after getting all gussied up. Thanks so much, sweetie!
