Last weekend Bryan's dad had surgery, so we visited him and my parents. He is doing great. Thanks for all the prayers!
My mom loves to give gifts and is the sweetest, most generous person, so when we stay with my parents we always come home with much more stuff than we came with. Sometimes it makes me laugh how much extra stuff we come home with and how random it is! For your entertainment, here are the items we came home with that we didn't take with us when we traveled there:
a pair of silver earrings
a large nativity scene
a small nativity scene
two huge sleeves of styrofoam cups
a big pink stuffed pig
an ice chest on wheels (it is wheely cool!)
1 jar of meat seasoning
1 jar of pork marinade
1 jar of beef marinade
a peach cobbler
several bags of assorted food
an automatic dog watering system called "Le Pet Bistro"
a Michael Jackson doll from the Thriller era
an Elvis Presley watch that was bought at TG&Y in the 80's and never opened
several children's books
approximately 30 bottled waters
a box of teacher books for a person my mom knows in Austin
my brother's dog and his crate, bowls, leash
my brother's dry cleaning
an adorable velvet outfit for Daphne
a silver and ivory rattle
There may be more, but those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head. Does this happen to everyone when they visit their parents or is it just us?

I am cracking up. That is so Debbie Potts. I need to visit your house when your mom is home so I can get some freebies. Hilarious!!!!
That is hilarious! My mom does the same thing but she lives in Seattle! Last time BJ and I went to visit she sent us both home with 50lb boxes (because thats the max weight before they charge, and yes she weighs them!)We didn't mind until we got off the airplane and had no idea how we were going to carry them to the car with our luggage. MOM's.....you've got to love them!!! I'll fill you in on how they made it later :)
heh. my parents also buy us random stuff, but since they are in town, they usually just bring it over to our house, so i'll come home and find that alexander has new toys, or shoes or something. they bought us a Pet Bistro thingy a few months back too.
we usually eat dinner at their house on sunday and my dad always tries to give us food to take home. not cooked food either, usually it's raw meat. mmm.
i'm dying-- thriller? really? okay, well, this morning at church your mom invited me & susanna up for a visit and now that i know she gives Fabulous Parting Gifts i'm thinking i'll have to open up some room in my schedule tomorrow.
